Zeroing In: Why dashboards and data make the difference on electric trucks.
Data doesn’t always seem like an exciting topic, but it’s one of the most powerful tools fleets have, and it matters even more with electric trucks.
In this episode of Zeroing In, Jenny Jackson, our Fleet Services Manager, and Joe Evans, our Customer Advanced Solutions Data Specialist, take us through the dashboards fleets use to protect uptime, control costs, and run their electric fleets with confidence.
Why does data do more work with electric trucks?
As Jenny explains, connected trucks mean that fleet operators already work with live data, and electric trucks add even more new information into that picture.
Over time, through looking at how vehicles perform on specific routes, battery status, and how different working patterns and weather conditions affect range and charging, we can build a much clearer picture.
Why do our dashboards make the difference?
Jenny goes on to highlight Renault Trucks Optifleet, the fleet management system that supports vehicles, drivers and electric operations. It presents data in a clear, easy to understand way which customers value immensely.
Alongside the customers, operators also use Optifleet to manage their fleets effectively. Joe explains that they can use it to monitor driver activity, health alerts and safety events.
With clear, consistent information, Optifleet is highly regarded by customers and operators alike.
How does this look in practice?
As well as Jenny and Joe, we hear from Matthew Scoble, Road Logistics Truck & Fleet Operator at Kuehne + Nagel about what having access to those dashboards means for their business.
Jess Sawbridge, our Customer Experience Manager, visited Kuehne + Nagel to find out how our dashboards are working in the real world. Matthew explains, the insights prove to be invaluable, and while the data they can get through Optifleet is great in and of itself, being able to see it laid out on the dashboard makes it far easier to digest the data and see trends starting to form.
For Kuehne + Nagel, the electric vehicles are managed, measured and monitored the same way as the rest of the fleet, which as Jess leaves us with, is what good, well presented data can support.
